About Web of the Heart

The beginnings of Web of the Heart date back to the year 2000, when a group of health professionals began to publish their knowledge about cardiovascular diseases on the Internet. At the time, the website provided useful information for students and heart patients, as well as allowing cardiology consultations. The authors were part of an association of health webmasters, which eventually disappeared.

For various reasons, the evolution over time led to the transformation of those initial pages into what is now Web of the Heart, that is, an Internet site aimed at providing information on cardiovascular diseases. Web of the Heart was launched in 2011, initially providing all the information that the old pages had. Subsequently, it has been updated, and new topics have been included, especially those most requested by users.

Our users

Web of the Heart is an Internet site oriented to all people who need information about heart disease, cardiovascular risk factors and recommendations on how to lead a heart-healthy life.

Web of the Heart is open to the public, and everyone who visits us can read our articles, as well as the comments and discussions that are posted. This is especially useful for patients with cardiovascular disease or their families. All the information on the website can also be useful to students of the different branches of health care.

Our goals

At Web of the Heart you can learn interesting facts about heart disease, high blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, physical exercise and sports, diets and the relationship between the heart and other diseases.

We will highlight, among other things, how to follow a correct diet and the different aspects of sport in the prevention of cardiovascular disease. We will also insist on the risks of smoking and how to quit smoking.

It has been proven that the best way to prevent heart disease is to lead a life of healthy habits. Although this information may be useful to doctors and students of health branches, our website is primarily aimed at the general population. So we will try to give the explanations in the simplest way possible, always adapting them to scientific knowledge.

Our website will also include news articles highlighting information published in other media that is interesting from the point of view of cardiovascular diseases. In addition, we will try to resolve doubts about the questions that cardiologists are most frequently asked. In addition, we will be able to publish links to health-related websites, and the possibility of commenting and discussing topics on the different aspects of cardiovascular diseases.

At Web of the Heart you may have the possibility to subscribe to our newsletters, which requires prior voluntary registration, in accordance with current legislation regarding the protection of personal data. Subscription is free, and all visitors are encouraged to register, as this allows them to receive exclusive information about cardiovascular diseases and, above all, about prevention methods to achieve better health. In addition, they will be able to contact Web of the Heart more easily.

The public may find it useful to suggest new topics on our website and to ask questions about which they have doubts or would like more information. Anyone registered on our website can submit suggestions and questions related to cardiovascular diseases.

All proposed topics or questions raised by subscribed users will be considered by our website’s cardiologist. Furthermore, participation by health professionals outside Web of the Heart is also permitted, and their comments signed with their name and/or with a link to their website may be published. These professionals may also participate in Web of the Heart by sending articles, which will be published once their suitability to our criteria has been confirmed.

Finally, for all those who have their own website, they can contact us to include it within our links or consider another form of exchange, always following the current legal considerations, especially regarding the protection of personal data.
